Introduction
A user in the Field Effect MDR Portal can be granted one the following permission levels:
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Admin | Has all the access and edit capabilities as the Edit role, with the additional ability to manage access to the MDR Portal. |
| Edit | Has all the access that the view role has, with the following additional capabilities: Organization Management: - Manage monitoring profiles - Manage DNS Firewall settings - Manage SEAS settings ARO Management: - Assign AROs to users - Manage Mitigation steps - Comment - Close (Dismiss, Resolve) |
| View | Can log into the MDR Portal and access reports and dashboards. Can not access administrative pages or change settings. |
Changing a User's Role
To change a user's permissions, Navigate to Administration > User Management and find the user you want to edit in the list. Open the user's ellipses and select Edit user permissions.

The Edit Permissions window will open. You can change the user’s permission level via the checkmarks. After selecting the proper permission level for the user, click Update.

You’ll be taken back to the User Management page, and your user’s new permissions will be listed in the user table’s Permissions column.
