Deployment Checklist: MDR Core

Introduction

Since our service tiers differ slightly from one another, we have separate deployment checklists for each service tier, please see the Deployment Checklist for MDR Complete if you are a MDE Complete client. 


When starting your deployment, you had the opportunity to leverage our MDR Portal's onboarding wizard and Deployment Playbooks. Those articles offer more detail into each part of a deployment. This checklist helps ensure that you have completed all the steps your deployment of MDR Core.

Deployment Phase

Questions

Creating MDR Portal Accounts & User Management

  • Have I created my own MDR Portal account?
  • Were the correct users invited?
  • Have invited users activated their account?


Setting up the Monitoring Profile


  • Have I collected the proper information in advance?
    • Client’s domains Client’s email domains
    • Client’s public IPs
    • Staff locations

Setting up Active Response


  • Have I chosen the appropriate Response Policy (Limited, Balanced, Aggressive) myself or the client?
  • Have I enabled Active Response before integrating Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for cloud monitoring?
    • When integrating these services, you will be prompted to enable Active Response for the service.

Installing Endpoint Agents


  • Have I downloaded the appropriate install package(s) (macOS, Windows, Linux)? 
  • Have I downloaded the install package(s) specific to your client in the MDR Portal?
