Supplemental Data Tables - Out-of-Date and End of Life Operating Systems

Introduction

By default, Field Effect sends an ARO monthly for each piece of vulnerable software, or operating system, detected in your environment. This monthly ARO will list all the devices affected by the software issue.

If you prefer to use our supplemental data tables to deal with vulnerable software management instead of AROs, see the Supplemental Data Page - Overview for more on how to suppress vulnerable software AROs.

The Endpoints with Out-of-Date Operating Systems and Endpoints with End-of-Life Operating Systems supplemental data tables are generated by Field Effect MDR and lists the endpoints that are either running an operating system that is either out-of-date and needs to be updated or reached the end of its support cycle and needs to be upgraded.

We offer supplemental data tables for Out-of-Date and End-of-Life operating systems so clients can easily view and export a summary of vulnerable devices for targeted patching efforts.

These tables are generated separately, per operating system and issue type. These are stored on the Supplemental Data Page, and the following operating system tables are available:

  • Endpoints with Out-of-Date Operating Systems:
    • Windows
    • Linux
    • Mac
  • Endpoints with Out-of-Date Operating Systems:
    • Windows
    • Linux
    • Mac

These tables are visible in the supplemental data table if you have endpoints with an affected operating system and become invisible when no endpoints are impacted by either of these issues.

These are separate tables, and this article uses the out-of-date Windows Operating Systems table as an example, but the concepts in this article apply to all the operating system tables listed above.

Filtering and sorting

This table can be filtered against either the devices' hostname or the last user on the host. You can also sort the list by the device's Risk level

Exporting

If you would like to export this table as a csv file to take with you while addressing the affected endpoints, click the export button to the upper right of the table.

The example below shows an export of the Endpoints with Out-of-Date Operating Systems table.
