Partners setting up an endpoint for a client should use the license.key associated with the client.
The license.key will not only define which client the endpoint is listed under in the control panel, but also digitally signs the agent installation.
If for any reason you install an endpoint for a client using the wrong license.key file, or elect to setup the client ahead of their onboarding and use another license.key file you have access to, the only remedy for swapping between keys later is to uninstall and reinstall the endpoint agent.
There is no quick or easy method of swapping a license.key through editing a file, its permissions or an entry in a registry.
